What's New in the Cabinet
January 2008 Meeting Recap
1/23/2008
The Kitchen Cabinet ladies came back to San Diego on January 23 & 24, 2008. Catching up with a happy hour mixer on the 23rd, the ladies chatted and updated each other on what they’d been up to since the last meeting. Some work, some volunteer, a couple have new babies as well!
Our very full agenda began the next day with a chance to “BRAG (boast, rave, applaud, gush)” about their role as a Kitchen Cabinet member. Several ladies have reached out to their local general manager, hosted fundraisers, introduced numerous new guests, and promoted our monthly menu highlights.
We reviewed their Breakfast assignment from the last meeting. Ideas about new products, service suggestions and overall feedback were plenty. They had also introduced as many new people to our Sunday Morning Breakfast as they could.
Our Executive Director of Brand & Menu Strategy revisited a topic she had asked for their counsel on during the inaugural meeting: the Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes brand attributes. The voice of the Kitchen Cabinet was strong and helped shape the brand attributes we identified and use internally.
Other topics for the day included Food Safety, Retail Soup, New Locations, Upcoming Promotions, the Passport menu promotion and the Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes 30th Anniversary (celebrating this summer).
The overwhelming tone of the meeting is that these ladies are dedicated, and willing to be put to work on behalf of the restaurant they know and love. We’ll see them back again in June 2008.
