What's New in the Cabinet

January 2009 Meeting Recap

1/23/2009

January 14 & 15 we had the pleasure of welcoming our 12 Kitchen Cabinet ladies to our corporate headquarters in San Diego. We opened the trip with a happy hour on Wednesday evening, where everyone got reacquainted and caught up with each others lives.

Thursday we jumped right into a full day’s agenda! To begin, each lady shared a personal highlight from 2008. Family trips, anniversaries, and children were the spotlight. Then we participated in a B.R.A.G. session (Boast, Rave, Acknowledge, Gush) as each lady shared what she had been doing in their community as it relates to Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes. Wow, were we impressed!

After that we took everyone through our January through June promotional calendar, sharing our upcoming menu promotions and talking about some sales generating ideas that the Cabinet can help us with.

Lunch was especially fun: we featured seven upcoming menu items and seven conceptual recipes and gathered feedback on each of those items. After lunch we invited a moderator in to conduct a focus group with the Cabinet. The two-hour session was filled with questions and answers relating to the Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes brand.

As the afternoon continued, our VP of Business Development shared some news about our soups going retail and news of our products in local wholesale warehouses, and also gathered ideas from the ladies about things they’d like to see with Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes. Ken Keane, our President, then shared an update on the state of the company and upcoming locations.

The day ended with our "Free Speech" session, and each Cabinet member was invited to share whatever was on her mind regarding our restaurants. We heard about menu ideas, differences in stores across the country, ideas for more involvement on their part, new restaurant site recommendations, and stories about visits to their local Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes restaurant.

After the meeting we all headed to dinner, where we enjoyed good food, and great conversation. A productive and fun day, and as usual we learned so much from all 12 women on the Kitchen Cabinet. Their input, ideas, and energy are so valuable and we can’t wait to execute the ideas that came out of the day.

Can’t wait to see everyone again in June!
